We are looking for a highly skilled professional to support the day to day running of the nursery, ensuring high quality care and education is provided to cover the Maternity Leave of our current Third in Charge for a period of 1 year.

The successful candidate must hold an NVQ level 3 qualification in childcare, learning and development and have experience leading a room, managing staff and caring for children under 5 years old.

We are looking for an enthusiastic person who is passionate about childcare and is looking to take the next step in their career. You must have good knowledge of child development, a sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and have experience implementing appropriate learning opportunities for children Under 5 years old.

You will be responsible for overseeing the running of a busy room as well as supporting the management team with various additional roles such as; opening/closing the nursery, carrying out show rounds, tracking children’s progress and helping to organise exciting events and fundraisers as well as carrying out a number of admin duties.

You must be a good role model and able to lead by example, you should be able to maintain a positive and friendly attitude and be eager to learn and willing to undertake relevant training.

You will be expected to attend senior team meetings as planned any in-between that are required and you will also be responsible for planning and delivering training on staff training days.

You will be required to work an alternate shift patterns of 7.45-5 / 9-6 and may need to work over time or double shifts from time to time and at short notice.

  • Partnerships with parents and carers
  • Key person to a minimum of 4 children

Qualifications and Skills

  • Room leader experience
  • Key person experience
  • Knowledge of the EYFS
  • Knowledge of child development
