Senior Nursery Practitioner

We are currently looking to recruit two Senior Nursery Practitioners to lead our mobile baby room caring for children aged 18 months- 2 years OR our one of our Preschool rooms caring for children aged 3 – rising 4 years.

We are looking for enthusiastic practitioners who are passionate about childcare and are looking to take the next step in their career.

The successful candidates must have good knowledge of child development, sound understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage and have experience implementing appropriate learning opportunities for children Under 5 years old.

You must be a good role model and able to lead by example, you should be able to maintain a positive and friendly attitude and be eager to learn and willing to undertake relevant training.

You will be responsible for overseeing the running of a busy room with duties that include, dealing with parent queries and concerns; ensuring all paperwork including children’s planning assessment is efficient and up to date; delegating duties and responsibilities to staff and managing any staffing issues that arise.

You will be expected to attend senior team meeting as planned any in-between that are required, you will also be required to hold room meetings to feedback information passed down or discuss changes, improvements and strengths of your team.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Contributing to Senior team meetings and staff meetings
  • Delegating duties and responsibilities to staff
  • Deployment staff appropriately according to qualifications
  • Dealing with parent queries and concerns
  • Ensuring all paperwork including children’s planning assessment is efficient and up to date
  • Managing any staffing issues that arise.
  • Supervisions of staff
  • Supervision and interaction with children
  • Supervision of meal times
  • Observation, planning and assessment
  • Partnerships with parents and carers
  • Key person to a minimum of 4 children


Qualifications and Skills

  • Under Two’s experience
  • Key person experience
  • Knowledge of the EYFS
  • Knowledge of child development
