I have 10 years of childcare experience working with all age groups in both a large chain of nurseries as well as an independent nursery and at the beginning of my career I was a private nanny.
I have a Foundation Degree in Early Years and completed this with a Distinction grade. Amongst this qualification I have attended other professional training such as, Pediatric First Aid, Behavior Management, Designated Person for Safeguarding Children, Prevent Duty, Fire Awareness and have also completed the full accredited Special Educational Need Coordinator training.
My aim for this nursery is to ensure your children’s safety and welfare at all times, ensuring a warm and welcoming environment whereby a rich variety of stimulating learning opportunities are provided, allowing them to become resilient and enabling them to reach their full potential. I will also ensure an enthusiastic, highly trained, caring and well managed staff team are there to scaffold your child’s development and form the foundations for their future learning and will use my passion for Special Educational Needs to ensure that all children fulfil their potential, making certain that no child is disadvantaged because of their individual needs and abilities.
I further wish to maintain our good standards and hope to increase our current Ofsted rating to an Outstanding upon our next inspection. I aim to do this through continuing to implement high quality staff practices that ensure your child is safe, secure, happy and stimulated.
My name is Kirsty and I am the Deputy Manager at Bright Comets Day Nursery.
I have worked at Bright comets for the last 8 years where I started my career in childcare working in the baby room. I spent 4 years nurturing the babies and enjoyed supporting their development through lots of sensory activities. I have since worked in all age groups gaining experience on how children learn and develop and offering them wide varieties of stimulating activities in a nurturing, fun and welcoming environment. I have worked my way up in the nursery going form a room senior, to Third in Charge and have been acting Deputy Manager since January 2020 before the position was offered to me full time in November 2020.
I have gained many qualifications throughout the last 8 years and I am continually researching and keeping up to date with current legislation. I have attended several training courses such as, EYFS, Safeguarding, First Aid, and Prevent Duty
I am looking forward to working alongside Janine and making Bright comets a fun and exciting place for children to learn and grow. I will do this by mentoring and supporting staff and ensuring the practice we provide is of high quality.
